Alex Walker’s Serian Serengeti sifts location two times each year. Moving with the large herds, across Serengeti National Park and Ngorongoro Conservation Area in Tanzania, from December up to March this camp is situated in an isolated area south of the stunning Lake Ndutu (in which the other mobile camps are currently found). The positioning is officially within the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, properly far away from the other lodges within an area just like most of the short grass plains of Serengeti. This camp re-opens in the month July in the Northern part of Serengeti in Kogatende area and runs stays operational here until the middle of November.
Serian’s Serengeti North is a seasonal camp that operates in the distant northern corners of Serengeti National Park. It is a 5 minutes drive from Kogatende airstrip and a very short distance to documented “Great Migration’s” river crossing areas.
Great views are full of voluble lots of wildebeests, brim filled with the amazing drama. The Newborn wildebeest calves take pleasure in their gangly range of motion, while huge herds crowd the banks picking out appropriate crossing points. Huge numbers of wildebeests merge with other wild ungulates as indulgent Lions, Cheetahs plus Leopards go after and take pleasure in the smorgasbord of nomadic huge herds.
Alex Walker is extremely renowned for providing an authentic safari experience from the usual crowds. The distinctive trait at Serian is Flexibility. As opposed to other companies that manage mobile camps and luxury lodges that have rigorous safari times, Alex advices his visitors to spend the entire day in the bush. They do not have an arranged itinerary, or set lunchtime break at the camp between the game drives!
Running around like nomads you will find you camp set at close proximity to this great herd. From the month of June until November, Serian’s Serengeti North is based in a concealed valley of Wogakuria alongside the River Mara. and then Decamping southward to the shorter grass plains in the middle of December they sift through the calving season as the entire area comes full of life with thousands of baby wildebeest.
