The tented accommodation easily blends into the breathtaking natural world that encompasses it. The Kimasi granite big chunks of rocks drop uphill in complicated piles and dense vegetation surrounds the lodge, offering Mbuzi Mawe an inviting “hidden” experience. You can easily see Cape Buffalos close to the driveway; elephants gently browsing at the entrance while giraffe easily move through the terrain densely covered with acacia surrounding landscape. Antelope are often seen here, popping easily from one boulder to another. Mbuzi Mawe is a Swahili word used for the acrobatic klipspringer antelopes which are numerous in this area.
Location
Mbuzi Mawe Tented Camp found at an altitude of 5,133 fet is positioned on the far northern end of Central Serengeti. The tented camp is found near the Kimasi Kopjes and it’s just a mile eastwards of the main road that connects Serengeti’s northern and central areas. The lodge is around 18 miles northeast of the Seronera Airstrip and roughly 20 miles southwest of the Lobo Airstrip. It’s approximately an hour drive from the lodge to Lobo Valley or the Seronera Valley.
Accommodation
Mbuzi Mawe Tented Lodge offers Accommodation at that features 16 luxury tents fitted with 2 queen-size 4 poster beds. The nicely fitted tents are built on concrete foundations with tiled floors. All the tents are gorgeously decorated with amazing wooden furnishings, soft cushions and zebra pattern pillows. The Pieces of furniture include a ceiling fan, writing desk and a tiny sitting room having a table with a chair. You’ll enjoy exclusive inside bathrooms at the rare of each tent having a flushing toilet, luggage carrier plus twin sink and a shower. At the front of all the tents is a nice veranda having a twin sun-bed plus 2 deck chairs.
The lodge is smaller and its tents are positioned somewhat close to one another, and there are walkways that connect these tents.
Food and Drink
Breakfast is presented as a mixed buffet with orders of fresh of eggs, sausages, bacon plus pancakes. Lunch plus dinner are delicious 4 course meals. Picnic boxes are prepared for lunch or breakfast for those going on game drives early morning or for the entire day.
